ルーカスフィルム公認STAR WARS 1983年製オーストラリア国内販促用非売品ビンテージバナー

35年ほど前に都内のSW専門ショップで購入して額装して日の当たらない場所に飾っていたものです。
1983年にオーストラリアの「Bing Harris Sargood」社（ライセンシー）が『ジェダイの帰還（Return of the
Jedi）』公開時に店頭告知用（ポスター、バッジ、消しゴムの販売用表示）として限定製作した、非常に希少なビンテージのプロモーション用紙製店頭バナーです。

一般販売されたポスターとは異なり、オーストラリアの一部の店頭だけで短期間使用された販促用バナー（In-store Promotional Banner）であるため世界的に現存数字が少なく希少性が高いバナーになります。

このバナーに描かれているダース・ベイダーやハン・ソロ、ボバ・フェットなどのイラストは、時オセアニア地域で展開された文房具やアパレル、お面（マスク）などの販促のためだけにデザインされた固有のレイアウトです。時の店舗がキャンペーン終了後に廃棄してしまったケースがほとんどであるため、現存していること自体が非常に珍しく、国内外のコレクター市場で「本物のヴィンテージ」として取引実績が認められています。

画像の通り左の方に少し折れがありますがその他は汚れやシミなどなく43年前のビンテージ品としては極美品でデッドストックでなかなかマーケティングには出てこないSWコレクションとしてレアな品物だと思います。

This vintage Star Wars promotional banner was purchased approximately 35 years ago from a specialty Star Wars shop in Tokyo. Since then, it has been professionally framed and displayed in a location away from direct sunlight.

This is an exceptionally rare vintage paper in-store promotional banner produced in 1983 by Bing Harris Sargood, an officially licensed Australian Lucasfilm licensee, to promote the theatrical release of Return of the Jedi. It was created exclusively for retail displays advertising licensed merchandise such as posters, badges, and erasers.

Unlike commercially sold posters, this banner was produced exclusively for short-term in-store promotional use at selected retail locations in Australia. Because it was never available for public sale and was used only briefly before being discarded, very few examples are known to have survived, making it an exceptionally scarce and highly desirable collector’s item worldwide.

The artwork featuring Darth Vader, Han Solo, Boba Fett, and other characters was created specifically for promotional campaigns in the Oceania region, supporting licensed products such as stationery, apparel, and character masks. This unique layout was not used on standard theatrical posters, making it a distinctive piece of Star Wars promotional history. Since most retailers disposed of these banners after the campaign ended, surviving originals are extremely rare and are recognized by collectors around the world as authentic vintage promotional memorabilia.

As shown in the photos, there is a small crease on the left side of the banner. Aside from this minor flaw, it remains free from stains, discoloration, or other significant damage. Considering that it is over 43 years old, it is in outstanding near-mint condition and has the appearance of old stock. It is an exceptionally rare Star Wars collectible that seldom appears on the market.

The asking price is based on the limited number of previous sales of comparable examples. Because of the rarity of this item and the cost of secure shipping, I am not considering price negotiations at this time.

For serious Star Wars collectors, particularly fans of vintage Kenner collectibles, I believe this is a fair and reasonable price. I would like this rare piece to go to someone who truly appreciates its historical significance and collector value.

The banner will be shipped flat, without being folded or rolled, carefully protected between rigid boards and sent via a tracked courier service to ensure safe delivery.
