Supreme Field Shirt from the 2012 Fall/Winter collection.
This impressive archive piece combines Supreme’s signature New York streetwear aesthetic with authentic military-inspired details.
One of its most distinctive features is the all-over desert camouflage pattern. Based around muted olive tones with darker green, brown and black accents, the camouflage creates a rugged vintage military appearance without being excessively loud. It offers a different character from conventional woodland camouflage and works particularly well with understated streetwear.
The shirt is constructed from 100% cotton herringbone fabric. Its substantial heavyweight construction gives the piece considerably more presence than a typical lightweight shirt. The distinctive herringbone weave adds visible texture beneath the camouflage pattern, creating additional depth and character throughout the fabric.
Two large flap pockets are positioned across the chest, emphasizing the traditional field-shirt and military-workwear influence. A small Supreme tab beside the chest pocket provides subtle branding while allowing the fabric and construction to remain the main focus.
Rather than relying on oversized logos or graphics, this design expresses Supreme’s identity through fabric selection, camouflage and utilitarian detailing. It perfectly represents the early-2010s Supreme aesthetic, when classic American workwear and military references were frequently incorporated into the brand’s New York street style.
Thanks to its heavyweight cotton construction, the Field Shirt can be worn as a traditional button-up shirt or used almost like a lightweight shirt jacket over a T-shirt or long-sleeve top. This versatility makes it particularly useful during spring and autumn.
For classic styling, wear it open over a plain white, grey or black T-shirt with faded denim or black jeans. Cargo trousers, fatigue pants and chinos will further emphasize its military character.
For a more contemporary approach, combine the camouflage shirt with wide black trousers or clean slacks and simple sneakers. During colder seasons, it also works well underneath an MA-1, denim jacket or minimalist coat, allowing the desert camouflage to appear as a strong visual accent.
With its 2012 FW archive appeal, heavyweight herringbone cotton, desert camouflage and authentic field-shirt detailing, this is a particularly strong example of Supreme’s military-inspired design language.
