前の出品での落札価格が原価割れしたので再出品します。 FUZZ FACEを使用したときにワウペダルが効かない現象を解決するエフェクターです。ジミヘンと同じようにギターの次にワウペダルを接続し次にFUZZ FACEを接続するとゲルマニウムFUZZの場合は全くワウが掛からず、シリコンFUZZの場合は少し効きますがペダルを上げると発信します。しかしジミヘンのライブではワウが機能している場面が多く見受けられます。
従ってワウかFUZZに何かしらの改造がされていた可能性は高いのですが明確な証言や改造された物は発見されておりません。
Uni Awakening Bufferは このような仮説を元に開発しこれらの現象を解決しジミヘンのサウンドに近付けるアイテムに仕上げております。

エコープレックスやUni Vibeのようにエフェクター界には「繋ぐだけで音がよくなる」というエフェクターがいくつか存在します。
それらの中でUni Vibeのアンプ回路(バッファー)部をヴィンテージパーツを使用して再現し問題解決に利用したのがUni Awakening Bufferとなります。(以下Uni AB)

【以下は詳細の説明となります】

9V電源を18Vに昇圧した後に当時Uni Vibe に使用されたトランジスター2SC539の後に流通していた同社、同スペックでパッケージ違いの2SC644を使用してUni Vibeのアンプ回路を完全に再現しています。

これによりワウペダルとFUZZとの間にこのエフェクターを繋ぐことでワウペダルが効かない問題を解決しつつ「繋いだだけで音がよくなる」という地味ながら美味しい機能を一粒で二度美味しい状態を作り出すことに成功しています。

では、バッファーなら何でも良いのか？というと、そうでもなく。
バッファー搭載したエフェクターをFUZZの前に繋ぐと判るのですが、音がとんでもなく変わることが多いです。
Uni ABの利点はサウンドキャラクターをほとんど変えずに、そこはかとなく良い音にするところにあります。

FUZZもワウもONにせずクリーントーンで試しても音のキャラクターは変えずに艶と厚みが少し加わったことを体感できると思います。これが俗に言う「繋いだだけで音がよくなる」状態です。

本物のUni Vibeを使用するとOFFでもバッファー及び効果を作るフェイズ回路を通過した状態で待機状態になっておりONにしたときシームレスになるようUni Vibeのキャラクターがフォグした感じになり影響は強いのですが、Uni ABはフェイズ回路を持っておらず音のエッジは明瞭になりFUZZなど低音弦の輪郭はハッキリ聴こえるようになります。
ですからUni Vibeを接続した時と同じ音質にはならないのですが、これにより更に本物のUni Vibeを追加した時にUni Vibeの音に二重に干渉することを防いでいます。

当製品は完全なトゥルーバイパスではありませんが、OFFの時は ほぼバイパスされるようにしています。

実際に使用した方からはオーバードライブやディストーションに使っても音がよくなったという報告も受けております。

50年以上60年近く前の貴重なヴィンテージパーツ(2SC644と2SC828)を使用しており筐体の銘板も残り10枚となり、この初期型のUni ABはあと10個をもちまして一旦、製造は終了します。(今回の出品は5個を出品していますので後にあと5個を出品予定しています)

2期目のUni ABのリリースはまだ未定です。

This effect pedal solves the problem of wah pedals not working when using a FUZZ FACE. Just like Jimi Hendrix, if you connect a wah pedal after the guitar and then a FUZZ FACE, germanium fuzz pedals won't produce any wah effect, and silicon fuzz pedals will have some effect, but will oscillate when the pedal is raised. However, in Jimi Hendrix's live performances, the wah pedal is often seen functioning.
Therefore, it's highly likely that some kind of modification was made to the wah or fuzz pedal, but no clear evidence or modified equipment has been found.
The Uni Awakening Buffer was developed based on this hypothesis, solving these problems and creating an item that brings you closer to Jimi Hendrix's sound.

There are several effect pedals in the world, like the Echoplex and Uni Vibe, that "improve the sound just by plugging them in."
Among these, the Uni Awakening Buffer recreates the amplifier circuit (buffer) section of the Uni Vibe using vintage parts and utilizes it to solve the problem. (Hereafter referred to as Uni AB)

[The following is a detailed explanation]

After boosting the 9V power supply to 18V, the Uni AB uses the 2SC644 transistor, which was available from the same company but with a different package, after the 2SC539 transistor used in the original Uni Vibe. This completely replicates the Uni Vibe's amplifier circuit.

This solves the problem of the wah pedal not working when connected between a wah pedal and a fuzz pedal, while also creating a subtle but desirable feature: "the sound improves just by connecting it." It's a two-for-one deal.

So, does that mean any buffer will do? Not necessarily.

As you'll notice when connecting a buffered effect pedal before a fuzz pedal, the sound often changes drastically.

The advantage of the Uni AB lies in its ability to subtly improve the sound without significantly altering its character.

Even when tested with a clean tone without turning on either the fuzz or wah, you'll notice a slight addition of richness and depth without changing the overall character of the sound. This is what's commonly referred to as "the sound improves just by plugging it in."

When using a genuine Uni Vibe, even when it's OFF, the signal remains in a standby state, passing through the buffer and phase circuit that creates the effect. When turned ON, the Uni Vibe's character becomes somewhat fogged up to create a seamless transition, resulting in a strong influence. However, the Uni AB lacks a phase circuit, resulting in a clearer sound edge and a more distinct contour for bass strings, such as in fuzz effects.

Therefore, it won't produce the exact same sound quality as when a genuine Uni Vibe is connected, but this prevents double interference when adding a genuine Uni Vibe.

This product is not completely true bypass, but it is almost completely bypassed when OFF.

We have received reports from users that the sound improved even when used with overdrive and distortion pedals.

It uses valuable vintage parts (2SC644 and 2SC828) from over 50 to nearly 60 years ago. Only 10 nameplates remain on the enclosure, and production of this early model Uni AB will cease after these 10 units are completed. (This listing includes 5 items, and I plan to list 5 more later.)
