An Edo period Japanese ceramic tea caddy in the form of a mouse, glazed in green and beige with wood-grain patterned lid. The mouse is depicted standing, with expressive features. Thick body, natural crackle glaze, characteristic of Tokoname ware. Incised mark 'Tamaizumi' on base; wooden box inscribed 'Tken Tamaizumi Nezumi Shjin'. A refined piece for tea ceremony use.
