[Historical Background & Rarity]
Inspired by the 1934 Japan-USA Baseball Series featuring legendary players like Babe Ruth, Japan's first professional baseball team was established in December of that same year. In February 1935, the team embarked on the first-ever U.S. tour in Japanese baseball history.
This highly historic item is a genuine autographed baseball signed by all 20 full-roster members during that 1935 U.S. tour.
While a few "1935 U.S. Tour Full Roster Autographed Photos" are known to exist, this is currently the only known surviving autographed baseball of its kind in the world.
[Verification & Provenance] The arrangement of the autographs on this ball closely matches the positioning of the signatures on the famous 20-member autographed photos taken aboard the passenger ship Chichibu Maru during the tour (copies of which are held by the NYK Maritime Museum and a prominent baseball-specialty antiquarian bookstore). Because of this near-identical layout, it is highly likely that this ball was signed at the exact same time as those historic photographs.
Please refer to the reference links below to verify the alignment and authenticity of the signature layout.
