    【ヴァカムエルタ隕石とは？】
    1891年にチリのアタカマ砂漠で発見された石鉄隕石(メソシデライト)です。石鉄隕石には、イミラックのようなパラサイト隕石と、ヴァカムエルタ隕石のようなメソシデライト隕石の２種類あります。メソシデライトは隕鉄とカンラン石が半分ずつ混ざった隕石です。最近では新しい個体が見つかっておらず、希少な隕石の１つとして扱われています。非常にサビにくい隕石になります。
